Gone Fishin' March 2019 Newsletter

Hi Everyone

Every 3rd Saturday of the month, I lead a team of brothers and sisters from our fellowship at Calvary Chapel Wellington in evangelism.
We head down to the local Naenae Shopping Centre, to do one-on-one witnessing to those coming and going to the shops.

The week before, I write a devotional which hopefully encourages our congregation in the area of evangelism. My Pastor sends this out with the emailed church notices.

Here's March's Gone Fishin' Newsletter.

Enjoy!

Gone Fishin' July 2018 Newsletter

Hi Everyone

Jarryd Alcorn, my Pastor at Calvary Chapel Wellington, asked me to head the Local Outreach Team.

Once a month, a team of us go down to Hillary Court in Naenae. While there, we engage in Gospel conversations, and hand out Gospel tracts.

This is an awesome time, and a great opportunity to hone our evangelism skills to use every day.

I have started a monthly flyer to go out with the emailed church notices. I thought these would make good reading, so will post these on the blog as I send them out. Below is the July Newsletter.

Enjoy!

Of Mongrels And Prodigals

"...your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.' " (Luke 15:32)

We have all heard of the story of the Prodigal son in Luke's Gospel account.
 The younger brother who:
  • shamed his father by demanding his inheritance there and then;
  • flittered away this inheritance through sinful lust;
  • came to repentance while wallowing in a pig sty;
  • was restored by his father on his return home.
And - while the Pharisees listened to the story told by Jesus with grinding teeth, and murderous intentions - we all marvel at the unconditional love, forgiveness, and mercy poured out by the father.

But lurking all the while in the background was another prodigal...
